涂克（b.1916） 生于广西，1935年考入杭州国立艺专油画系就读。后来投笔从戎，成为新四军中的一位著名艺术家，他不但精于油画、素描、水彩画，而且还精于填词、作曲。1949年，涂克先生随陈毅将军部队进入上海受命创办“上海美术工厂”任创作组长，后来“美术工厂”改名为“上海美术设计公司”，涂克任总经理。1952年，涂克先生被调至上海市公安局主办“上海公安画报”。1953年至1963年，涂克先生任上海市文化局美术科科长，美术处处长。并兼任华东美术家协会常务理事，上海市音乐家办会常务理事。期间受命创办了“上海画院”并任秘书长，创办“上海美术学校”任教务长兼油画系、雕塑系主任。后来涂克先生还担任了广西书画院院长，中国美术家协会理事，中国美术家协会广西分会主席，广西文联副主席等职。 Tu Ke,born in Guangxi and entered The Department of Oil Painting in Hangzhou National Art Academy in 1935. Late he gave up his study and became a famous artist in the new 4th army corps. He was not only good at oil paintings, line drawings and watercolor paintings, but also at writing music. Tu Ke is a clever and hard working, precise, careful and open-minded person,and was regarded highly by general Chenyi.When he was in the army, he was interviewed by a famous American journalist and writer Ms Smotlay.In 1949,Tu Ke came to Shanghai and was ordered to create the “Shanghai Art Workshop”and was assigned as a creative director with general Chenyi’s army.Late ,the “Shanghai Art Workshop”was renamed as “Shanghai Art Designing Company”and TuKe was assigned general manager. In 1952,Tu Ke moved to the Shanghai Bureau of Public Security to takr charge of “Shanghai Painting Newspaper of Public Security”.from 1952 to 1953, Tu Ke was assigned as a section chief of the fine art section in the Shanghai Cultural Bureau ,and the head of fine art department.Also he is a permanent director of Shanghai Musician Association.At this period he was ordered to otiginate “Shanghai Painting Academy” and assigned as secretary general, to originate “Shanghai Fine Art School”and assigned as the dean and department head of oil painting major and sculptural major.Later, Tu Ke was also assigned as the dean of the Guangxi Painting and Calligraphy Academy, director and president of The Chinese Artist Association,Guangxi Branch, vice president of Guangxi Cultural Association and so on.
